A Landing Pad for Young Professionals
Young Professionals of Seattle is a landing pad for over 12,000 people. They know moving to a new city can be exciting and challenging in unexpected ways. They’re designed for the “what now?” moments that can follow the honeymoon phase of exploring your new neighborhood. As you begin to search for roots, a job and connections in your area, YPOS is a bridge to the communities you seek.
When developing the logo, we wanted to show the journey every young professional takes, while ensuring the system could scale as the brand expands into new cities.
The logo depicts an abstracted person starting in the past, and then turning around to face the future. Simply change out the community name attached. For the icon version of the logo, we adopted a crest-like four-quadrant approach and used the last section to visualize the community.
The type and colors each needed to be unapologetically bold. Vibrant neon tones paired with Futura match the brand's status as the most active networking community. When seen in the wild, you can’t miss it!
Marketing assets celebrate the different cities by having key landmarks peek through pixelated blocks. In this way, the brand takes on the spirit of the community as opposed to the other way around.
Existing members now have a unique identity to stand behind, and newcomers to the city can easily identify where to go to connect with other young professionals.
We were also tasked with all facets of the brand release. This culminated with the brand’s public launch at their 7th anniversary Party.
Today the platform has expanded across the country, becoming the largest young professional network in the US
